Kirby-Hill House Museum and Educational Foundation

The Kirby-Hill House is located in Kountze, next door to the Kountze Public Library, and one block north of the Hardin County Courthouse.  Taking Highway 69 North from Beaumont (approx. 25 miles) to Kountze, Texas; turn left onto Hwy. 326 (West Monroe St.)- go three blocks to Redwood Street.   At Redwood St., turn right and go one block to West Main Street. We are right there, at 210 West Main Street. There are signs on the highways to help point your way to us.

Kountze, Texas is also approximately 90 miles east of Houston.   Kountze, the Heart of the Big Thicket, County Seat of Hardin County (Land of the Dancing Cypress), Home of the Big Thicket National Preserve Visitors Center and Pelt Pond Rural Life Museum, near Village Creek State Park in Lumberton, Silsbee Icehouse Museum, Batson Oil Patch Museum, and canoeing, swimming, hiking, camping, birding, and several fun festivals.
